As many of you know, I moved to Altoona at the beginning of January. I'm finally becoming adjusted to life away from Northwest Iowa. Of course I miss the family & friends still back there but I love it here. My job is amazing. I'm an assistant manager at Fridley Theatres Copper Creek 9 Cinema in Pleasant Hill. I work with some amazing people and have made some really good friends already. Its a great place and I being here. I'm living in an apartment in Altoona all by myself and love that. After living at the parents house it's nice to live by myself and get to do what I want. I'm still going to school through Buena Vista, I'm just doing it online now. Its school so I don't hate it but I'm not loving it either. Hopefully I'm going to take the summer off for a little break from school since I haven't had a good sized break in a while.
The family is doing good. Mom is back to here old self, guilting her daughter into making trips home whenever she has time off :), but I love her for it. If it wasn't for her I would barely make it home. I get my daily phone calls from her and I think I hear daily that she's glad we got Ollie (our puppy) so she has someone to keep her company.
Dad stays busy with school, he is still the superintendent at Ruthven so he seems to always be going to some activity for the school. Luckily for me, that brings him to Des Moines this weekend :).
Dad and Andy will be traveling to Des Moines for the boys state tourney to watch Loren Meyer be inducted into the Iowa's Hall Of Fame. I haven't seen Andrew for over a month due to him being at Wayne so I'm excited to hang out with him. He is loving it at Wayne and seems to be making some great friends.
Shane is still living in Guthrie Center working as an english teacher. He stays really busy coaching and going to grad school, so I don't get to see him as much as I wish I could. His son Carter lives in West Des Moines, however I don't get to see him as much I wish either. He's an adorable character though who can make me smile even when I don't want to.
Kelli & Trenton are both still working at the Ruthven school. Noah is 3 now and Lexi is 6 and soon enough there will be a 3rd child in their house :). Baby #3 is due on 9/9/09 and I can not wait. Although I do have rules that the baby needs to be born on a Sunday so I can come home and spend at least 3 days with it! Of course that won't work. It will probably be stubborn like Noah and come late and right before I need to leave. Noah & Lexi are still cute as ever and can accomplish what Carter can - making me smile even when I don't want to. I miss them everyday and wish I could see them more.
Well that's all I have for now, I'll update more once I have something good to share!
